Robert Adams (ca. 1740s –  ca. 1824)

“Robert Adams was a pioneer settler near Bedford. He underwent many hardships, and during the Indian troubles was obliged to go to the fort every night to escape being murdered. He moved to St. Clair Township where he died about 1822” (1)

James W. Gordon (ca. 1886 - 1931)

 

James W. Gordon was born about 1886, in Ryot (Oak Shade or Six Roads), West St. Clair Township, Bedford County or in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, the son of Lorenzo Madden and Margaret (Adams) Gordon. James was the tenth of eleven children.
