James McMullen (ca. 1811 - 1887)
Susan (McDermitt) McMullen (1820 - 1887)
James McMullen was born about 1811 perhaps in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, the son of James and Ann (Donoughe) McMullen. His father was an Irish Catholic immigrant, and his mother was a first generation irish-American.
James may have had the following brothers and sisters: John Edwin, Bridget, Hugh, Isabelle, Ann, Matthew, Mary, and Charles C. McMullen.
On April 14, 1823 it is thought that his father was killed by a fallen tree at their home in Black Log Valley, Tell Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. James was just a boy of 11 or 12.
