Harriet Jane (Conrad) Scanlan (1863 - 1930)
Harriet Jane Conrad was born on August 21, 1863 in Allegheny Township, the daughter of John Anthony and Ellen S. (Bradley) Conrad. She was baptized at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Loretto, Allegheny Township.
Harriet grew up on a farm in Allegheny Township the third of twelve children.
On May 21, 1889 Harriet married Joseph Augustine Scanlan in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Loretto. Joseph was born on May 21, 1853. Joseph was ten years older than Harriet.
Harriet and Joseph resided in Loretto. Joseph died on June 19, 1914 at their home. He had been ill for six months and was 61 years old.
After Joseph's death, Harriet resided wih her unmarried sisters Lennie and Tilliie, and her unmarried brother Bert. Her unmarried sisters Cecelia and Margaret may also have resided with her for a time.
Harriet died at home on November 28, 1930 at the age of 67.
Harriet and Joseph are buried in St. Michael's Cemetery, Loretto.
