Charles Bonaventura Conrad (1861 - ?)

Charles Bonaventura Conrad was born on August 10, 1861 in Allegheny Township, the son of John Anthony and Ellen S. (Bradley) Conrad. He was baptized at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Loretto, Allegheny Township.

Charles grew up on a farm in Allegheny Township, the second oldest of twelve children.
On November 16, 1886 Charles married Louisa Catherine Rudolph at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Loretto. Catherine was born about January 11, 1861 near Loretto, the daughter of Adam and Louisa (Hineman) Rudolph.

Charles and Catherine were the parents of four children: Dorothy E. (Conrad) Hauser, Mary Edna (Conrad) Hart-Epple, Ellen Leanna Sigrist, and Charles Anthony Conrad.

Charles and Catherine resided in Gallitzin Township, Cambria County, when two of their daughters were born. They moved to Altoona, Blair County, in the mid 1890s.

Charles died sometime before 1930.

Louisa outlived Charles by many years. She died on August 18, 1948 at Altoona Mercy Hospital at the ripe old age of 87.

Charles and Louisa are thought to be buried at Calvary Cemetery in Altoona because that is where their three daughters were laid to rest.

Their son Charles was an army veteran of both World War I and World War II. He never married.
