Eugene Ernest Conrad was born on July 1872 in Clearfield Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, the son of John William and Ellen Katherine (McMullen) Conrad.

Eugene grew up on his parent's farm in Clearfield Township, the second of ten children.

Eugene worked on his father's farm as a young man. He then found work as a teamster.

About 1898 Eugene married Elizabeth Moore. Elizabeth was born in 1879 in Hungtingon County. The young couple moved to Loretto, Cambria County. Sadly, Elizabeth died during childbirth the following year, August 28, 1899. Their daughter Marie did not survive. Elizabeth and Marie are buried in St. Augustine Cemetery.




On February 12, 1901 Eugene remarried to Sarah Jane "Jennie" Seibert at St. Michael's Church in Loretto. Jennie was born on April 2, 1869 in Carroll Township, Cambria County, the daughter of Sebastian P. and Martha (Bradley) Sybert. Tragedy struck again when Jennie died on November 12, 1904 afer less than four years of marriage. They have no children together. Jennie is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery in Loretto.

On February 21, 1906 Eugene married for the third time to Blanche Davis. Blanche was born about 1879 in Altoona, Blair County, the daugher of William and Josephine (McAteer) Davis.

Eugene and Blanche were the parents of four children: William Paul Conrad, Ada M. (Conrad) Sullivan, Norman Charles Conrad, and Bertha Conrad.

Bertha, the youngest, died in infancy in 1912.

Sadly, Eugene died on April 27, 1913 at their home in Sankertown, Cresson Township, Cambria County. The cause of his death is not known. He was just 40. He left Blanche a widow with three young children.

On March 4, 1916 Blanche remarried to a man ten years her junior named Claude M. Shively in Cresson. Claude was born about 1889 in Kentucky, the son of William and Jennie Shively.

Their children went to live with Eugene's family. Ada lived with her aunt and uncle Laura and James Wharton, Norman resided with his aunt and uncle Leo and Myrtle Conrad, and Paul resided with _____.

Ada went to nursing school at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City. She married a man with the last name of Sullivan. Her fate is unknown.

Paul married Anastasia Nagle and had nine children. They resided in Cresson.

Norman married Mary Catherine. They resided in Cresson. They had no children.
