Jane E. "Jennie" (McMullen) Kuntzman (1843 - 1873)
Jane E. "Jennie" McMullen was born on December 2, 1843 in Allegheny Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James and Susan (McDermitt) McMullen. She was baptized at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Loretto, Allegheny Township. Jennie grew up on a farm in Clearfield Township, the fourth of eleven children.
On June 16, 1868 Jennie married Lawrence Kuntzman at St. Augustine Catholic Church in St. Augustine, Clearfield Township.
Jennie and Lawrence were the parents of five children: Anna Mary (Kuntzman) Gildea, James Albert Kuntzman, Joanna Elizabeth (Kuntzman) Weakland, John Lawrence Kuntzman, and Jerome Henry Kuntzman.
Jennie and Lawrence resided in Allegheny Township.
Jennie gave birth to twins John Lawrence and Jerome Henry on July 9, 1873. Sadly, she died from childbirth four days later. The wins were born premature, and John Lawrence lived only one month.
Jennie is bured at St. Benedict's Cemetery, Carrolltown, Cambria County.
Lawrence was left with four young children, including an infant. Two years later he remarried to Annie Mulligan.
Lawrence and Annie had three children together: Catherine C. (Kuntzman)McMullen, John H. Kuntzman, and Charles Kuntzman.
Catherine married Jennie's nephew Joseph Carl McMullen, son of her brother John Edwin.
