Mary J. Dennison (1852 - 1941)


Henry C. Adams was born on July 11, 1847 in St. Clair Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania the son of Solomon and Ann (Shrader) Adams. Henry grew up on a farm in St. Clair Township, the sixth of eleven children.

Mary J. Dennison was born on June 2, 1852 in Napier Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Abraham and Catherine (Minch) Dennison.

Henry and Mary were married around 1871 in Bedford County. Henry was a farmer.

In 1891 Henry and Mary resided in Johnstown, Cambria County, PA.

By 1899 they returned to West St. Clair Township, where they ran his father's farm after his death. In 1906 they were again residing in Johnstown, but by 1913 they were back on a farm in Napier Township, Bedford County. Maybe they had two residences.

Henry and Mary did not have any natural children of their own, but they adopted Mary's nephew Edgar Dennison and two girls: Catherine "Katie" (unknown) Smouse, and Mildred J. "Millie" (unknown) Hiner-Slagle.

Henry died on August 19, 1913 in Mercy Hospital, Johnstown. He was 66.








Mary remarried to John Blough who died in 1936. She died on January 16, 1941 in Johnstown at the old age of 88.



Henry and Mary are buried in Schellsburg Cemetery, Schellsburg, Bedford County.
