John Adams (ca. 1776 - before 1850)

John Adams was born about 1780 in St. Clair Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, the son of Robert Adams, a pioneer white settler of Bedford County. His mother's name is not known, but it is thought to be Mary.

John was one of ten children, and he grew up on his father's farm in St. Clair Township.

In 1810 John resided with his wife, whose name is not known, in St. Clair Township. They had two girls and one boy, all under the age of ten.

Napier Township was formed from St. Clair Township, so in 1820 they found themselves residents of Napier. They had seven chidren by then. One of their children may have been Andrew Adams, who resided in Napier Township in 1850 with his wife Eve and children Mary, John, Juliann, and Andrew Jr.

John's fate is unknown.
